Jeff Small, CEO
One of the pioneers in the direct response radio advertising world, Jeff Small has been buying radio media for direct response advertising campaigns since the mid 1990's when direct response radio advertising was in its infancy. Since then, Jeff has led the Strategic Media team in building and managing some of the largest and most successful direct response radio advertising campaigns ever.
You'll find few people in direct response radio advertising with more hands-on experience building large, profitable direct response radio campaigns than Jeff. A gifted relationship-builder, Jeff knows how to find the best performing media, and he's the master at securing it under favorable terms for our clients. His radio media buying experience spans all of the top 200 U.S. markets and his longstanding relationships with the best performing stations in those markets, an advantage you have access to when you work with Strategic Media. In addition, Jeff has cultivated strong long-term ties with the national radio networks that perform best for direct response campaigns.
Over his years in the direct response advertising field, Jeff has observed and studied hundreds of radio advertising campaigns. As a result, he brings to your campaign a tremendous amount of knowledge and insight about what works and what doesn't in direct response radio. He ensures that you receive the benefit of that knowledge by applying it to every media buy for every client we work with.

Personal Notes
Jeff lives in southern Maine with his wife Leigh and three children, Griffin, Jack and Audrey. The family enjoys spending time exploring the beautiful Maine coast. Jeff and Leigh also train each year for one or more marathons in different parts of the country, having previously competed in the Maine, New York, Disney, Marine Corps and Chicago Marathons.
Brett Astor, Vice President
Brett Astor assists with the general management of the firm. His primary focus areas are direct response advertising creative strategy, creative development, testing methodologies, and campaign profitability analytics. Brett has a BA in Psychology and earned his MBA in Marketing, with Distinction, from the highly ranked Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
Brett began his direct marketing career at Dell Computer in Austin, Texas. As Senior Marketing Manager of Profitability & Business Planning, Brett rapidly developed a masterful understanding of the advantages and nuances in the direct-to-consumer business model. Brett worked in the Dell Home (consumer) division, then a $4.2 Billion division. In addition to his experience at Dell, Brett has hands-on experience managing large direct response advertising campaigns through his experience as CEO of a direct response marketing company. His experience in direct response advertising spans radio, DRTV and DR print, and ranges from product development & advertising strategy to sales/vendor management and campaign profitability optimization.
Brett's broad psychology, statistics, marketing profitability, and direct response advertising experience complements the depth of experience of other Strategic Media management team members, which means Strategic Media clients benefit from the application of a deep and diverse marketing skill set toward achieving their business objectives.
Personal Notes
Brett is an avid reader, writer, and endurance fitness enthusiast. In 2005, Brett completed his first marathon in Chicago, and his first half Ironman distance triathlon in Colorado. In 2006, Brett completed his first full Ironman triathlon in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. In 2007, along with Jeff, Brett ran the Marine Corps Marathon in Washington, D.C.
