Direct Response Radio Advertising Won't Save Vonage
Last year we posted a commentary on how the direct to consumer phone company Vonage had lost their way in the world of direct response marketing. Perhaps there was good reason. Their marketers were apparently distracted by a patent dispute with Verizon that, according to news reports, may well put Vonage out of business.
A judge issued an injunction Friday that would bar Internet phone carrier Vonage from signing up new customers as punishment for infringing on patents held by Verizon Communications Inc.
"It's the difference of cutting off oxygen as opposed to the bullet in the head," Vonage lawyer Roger Warin said.
