Communicate to solve problem, discussion or meeting to get new idea, collaboration or cooperate to success, connect idea for solution concept, businessman connect plug between conversation dialog.

“Altruistic” may not be the first word people typically associate with advertising, but Strategic Media, Inc. loves giving back and we’re excited to see the Ad Council does, too.

This September for Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, the Ad Council is partnering with the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and the Jed Foundation for a multi-platform campaign called “Seize the Awkward.” The campaign focuses on the importance of checking in with loved ones regarding mental health, despite how awkward those conversations may be.

Digital channels Reddit, Tumblr, Shine, and Twitch, as well as the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen, and other outlets will encourage teens and young adults to seize those awkward moments that could potentially save a life.

With such a critical message, the campaign should reach as broad an audience as possible. When 95% of millennials listen to the radio each week, it would be wonderful to see the “Seize the Awkward” campaign expand its reach with radio.
