Spotify has introduced a new miniplayer that allows listeners to enjoy songs and podcasts from Spotify directly within Facebook, without switching between apps. The miniplayer launched last week in the U.S. and other select markets.

According to Spotify, “Beyond Spotify shares to Facebook News Feed, fans will also have the ability to play songs via the miniplayer through select verified artists’ posts, or even from user-uploaded videos on Facebook that contain licensed music.”

Rain News reports that Spotify’s new feature will potentially extend Spotify’s global reach in podcast distribution eight times. Spotify serves about 350-million users, about 12% of Facebook’s reach of 1.8-billion daily users.
